Albia Iowa Local Attractions
I'm certain that you've heard that there is never anything
to do in a small town.
Don't believe everything you hear!
Albia offers a plethora of ways to entertain yourself or
your guests, or if you're a visitor to our community, there
are multiple things you'll want to see and to do before you
end your visit.
Albia may be small in size but we're big on things to do.
Here are just a few that you might want to consider:
Monroe County Fair - July of each year.

Albia Restoration Days - August, annually
Albia’s Historic Town Square: 92 Buildings on
National Register of Historic Places (1869-1910) – Town
Square Walking Tour Brochure available at the AACC, 118
South Main, Albia

First Iowa State Bank: restored to its original
splendor, lavishly decorated in Victorian antiques
(Reservations required 641-932-2144 or 641-932-3319).
Robert T. Bates Apartment: Robert T. Bates, Albia’s
benefactor was responsible for the restoration of the First
Iowa State Bank. Looking now very much as it did then, its
been restored to its former glory and houses some antiques
that are certainly noteworthy, from the world over.
Monroe County Historical Museum: This very unique
museum is filled with artifacts from 19th century homes,
from area farms, and mines. A coal mining exhibit at this
museum is something nearly anyone would enjoy.
